Charmaine holds a Master’s degree in Dance Science from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, UK, as well as a Diploma in Dance (Comprehensive Major) from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA).

Charmaine has been a lecturer for Dance Science at LASALLE College of the Arts since 2014 to the present day. She has also been lecturing Dance Pedagogy for the National Arts Council-Ministry of Education (NAC-MOE) since 2015, and was a lecturer for Dance Anatomy and Kinesiology at NAFA between 2014-2015. She has been invited to speak as a guest lecturer on more than one occasion: lecturing on Dance Science for the Singapore Medical Association and Dance Therapy at NAFA in 2014. Charmaine is also certified in the Progressing Ballet Technique, a program aimed at understanding correct muscle groups and muscle memory so as to enhance ballet training.

Charmaine has more than 6 years of experience teaching ballet and jazz. She has taught students under the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) certification for ballet and Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (CSTD) certification for ballet and jazz, and is competent in teaching children’s ballet.

Charmaine is an experienced coach and choreographer. Since 2015, she has choreographed, trained and prepared students (ages 8 – 15) for dance competitions in ballet, jazz and demi-character, where they have successfully attained 1st – 4th placings every year at competitions such as Get The Beat and the CSTD Singapore Regional Competition. Her choreography experience also includes a ballet quartet and modern ballet quintet for NAFA Dancers@Work 2011 and 2012 respectively, and gymnastics floor routines for Raffles Gymnastics and Dreams Gymnastics.
