Rosa Park

Mrs Park was a principal dancer for Singapore Dance Theatre (SDT) from 2009 – 2016, where she has starred in numerous SDT productions and worked with world class choreographers in premiere pieces for SDT.

Mrs Park began her stage career with SDT in 2009 as Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, and in December 2016, she retired from the stage on a poignant note, performing the Sugar Plum Fairy in SDT’s The Nutcracker. Throughout her time with SDT, she has also performed principal roles in classical ballets, such as Giselle (Giselle), Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), Juliet (Romeo & Juliet), Paquita (Paquita), Swannilda (Coppelia) and Kitri (Don Quixote). Mrs Park has also worked with noted choreographers Edward Liang, Cynthia Harvey, Ma Cong, Nils Christe, Stanton Welch, Val Caniparoli, Natalie Weir, Molly Lynch and more, displaying her versatility in their contemporary dance pieces.

Prior to coming to Singapore, Mrs Park was a soloist with the Korean National Ballet Company, dancing in both principal and soloist roles for company productions such as the Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty and Giselle, to name a few. In 2004, she was invited to be a guest dancer for the Royal Swedish Ballet, performing in their production of Swan Lake. She has also graced the stage of renowned ballet companies in Korea, such as the Korean Ballet Theater’s production of Raymondo and Universal Ballet Company’s The Nutcracker.

Mrs Park is an accomplished ballet teacher, with years of experience in coaching and rehearsing students for competitions, auditions and performances. This includes coaching pre-professional dancers for auditions into ballet companies. Since 2012, she has been a ballet instructor for SDT’s Scholars’ Programme, a pre-professional training programme for young dancers.

  • Korea Ballet Association Competition (Silver, Bronze)

Mrs Park was a scholarship holder at Sunhwa Arts School from 1993-1999, where she received 6 years of intensive dance training and graduated with Honours. She proceeded to complete her Bachelor in Dance and Master in Dance at Ewha Womans University and Sejong University respectively.
