Yarra Ileto

Born in Australia, Yarra Ileto has an extensive experience as an international and national judge, teacher and professional dancer. She is currently a lecturer at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and LASALLE College of the Arts teaching ballet, jazz and contemporary dance.

Yarra holds a Bachelor Degree with First Class Honours in Performing Arts (Dance) at LASALLE College of the Arts. She then furthered her studies to obtain a Master Degree of Arts in Pedagogy and Practice with Distinction awarded by Goldsmiths University, London in 2020.

As an choreographer, her works have been performed internationally including Adelaide Dance Festival in Australia, T.H.E Dance Company, T.H.E Second Company and several local Universities and arts colleges.

Throughout her professional career, she has worked with many world renowned choreographers and artists. She performed and toured extensively on international platforms across Asia and Europe with T.H.E Dance Company.

While performing as a Senior Artist at Arts Fission, she was also involved in community outreach programs, facilitated dance and art classes with children ranging 3 to 15 years of age, focusing on creative movement and artistic development.

Yarra is the 2017 recipient of The National Arts Council’s prestigious Young Artist Award. She has groomed many students to pursuit career in dance, her student, Haruka Chan has also been accepted at the New Zealand School of Dance, and recently just joined T.H.E as a fulltime dancer.

Yarra was invited to adjudicate at international and local dance competitions including Moving In Space Dance Competiton, Jakarta and FLUX Collective Dance Competition in 2018.
