Latin-American Ballroom Dancing refers to a group of ballroom dances that originated from Latin America. Commonly known as the latin style of competitive ballroom dancing, these dances require dancers to find the perfect synergy between artistry and athleticism.

The Syllabus is designed to:

  • Introduce the different types of latin dance styles: Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble & Jive
  • Create awareness of the differences in character, rhythm and technique between various dances
  • Develop social skills and a greater sense of trust and cooperation through dance etiquette and couple/teamwork
  • Improve flexibility, range of motion, posture, coordination and stamina
  • Allow students to explore their own creative self-expression
