Ms Ma holds a diploma in dance from Shanghai Dance School where she specialised in Ballet studies and also received extensive training in Character dance and Contemporary dance. 

Later, she was awarded the MOE Scholarship and accepted the offer to further her dance education in Singapore with Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), where she had the opportunity to learn in an English-speaking environment, and also gained much exposure to dance-related fields of knowledge while continuing dance technique training. During the course of her dance education, she was selected to represent her school in various international workshops conducted by Beijing Academy of Dance, Paris Opera Dance Company, The Royal Ballet Company, and Zhengzhou Song and Dance Ensemble.

She graduated with a Diploma in Dance Performance (Ballet) and proceeded to pursue her passion in dance teaching. She then went on to complete 2 years of training in CBTS (Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies) by the Royal Academy of Dance. Her professional ballet training background for more than 10 years have provided her with an in-depth understanding of the art form and has given her clarity and purpose to her style of teaching.

Ms Ma has led multiple groups of students in local primary and secondary schools to compete in the Singapore Youth Festival competition and attained various awards, including the Distinction Award and Accomplishment Award.

Since joining City Ballet Academy in 2015, Ms Ma has groomed students to achieve over 23 prizes for local and international competitions such as

It is noteworthy amongst the numerous awards to mention that her student clinched the Overall Highest Scoring Award at the Get The Beat Asia Finals 2017, and the Silver award at the 2017 Asian Grand Prix and Taiwan Grand Prix, where ballet dancers from numerous countries came together to compete. Her more recent teaching accolades also include obtaining 1st prize for Get The Beat Classical Solo, and winning the prestigious Overall Solo Champion at the Get The Beat Gala. She has also guided students to win 1st Prize for the Asia Dance Arts Festival Classical Solo, and to clinch the Gold medal for the Hong Kong Challenge Cup and CSTD competition.
